I've been reading the Tarot professionally for close to 30 years. And the search for the perfect deck - which, admittedly, took some time - was a cake walk compared to what was involved in finding my perfect Tarot bag. How could that be? Well...I guess I'm just a little on the persnickety side.To start with, I don't like drawstring bags - at least, not for Tarot cards. Most of them look like they were fashioned by a five-year-old. Or at the very least, by someone who didn't know how to sew and simply couldn't do any better.
I'm not fond of zippered bags, either - although some of them are really pretty. The problem lies in the fact that unless the bag is oversized, there's seldom any give for the depth of the deck. So even though the deck may fit while the bag is open, it's usually a bitch getting it closed again.
But my real problem with most of the bags on the market is this: There are no pockets. And that's something every professional card reader needs. Otherwise, there's no place to store a timer. No place to store proceeds from the readings. Or business cards. Or stones. Or any number of other necessities. And that's just plain wrong. [Just exactly who's designing these bags is anybody's guess, but one thing's for sure: It sure as hell isn't anyone who reads cards! ;)]
So with that in mind, I finally gave up and made my own.
Measuring approximately 5" X 6-1/2" when closed and empty - and designed with a generous 6" flap - these bags are roomy enough to hold even the largest deck. They're fully lined and like all the items I craft and sell, they sport my autograph. But best of all? You can choose your pocket placement. Whether you prefer an inner pocket or a contrasting outer pocket, I've got you covered. [Bags with both inner and outer pockets are available as well for an additional charge.]
Please note that as with most other items on this site, you get to choose the color of the bag, but the fabric choice is mine. That's because fabric is discontinued rather quickly - and I don't want you to be disappointed if I run out of a particular print and can't get anymore. One other thing: Occasionally, you'll find some one-of-a-kind bags listed here for sale. The "one-of-a-kind" term is serious. They cannot be duplicated, so please don't ask me to try. If you purchase one, however, you'll know that your bag is extremely special, and that no one in the whole wide world will ever have another just like it! ;)
