 With the Mojo of Two Witches Already Built Right In...How Could You Go Wrong?! Sabrina the Ink Witch is one of my dearest friends, and I really love her work. One of her more recent pieces, though, spoke to me in a way no other has. It made me feel giddy. Lighthearted. Warm and fuzzy all over. It was almost like falling in love. So much so, in fact, that I couldn't rest until I bought the fabric rights. I didn't know exactly what I'd do with them at the time, but my options were many: embroidery patterns, quilt tops, wallhangings and so forth - all of which may still come to pass. In the meantime, though, I hit upon a wonderful idea. A way to share this delightful piece of art with you - a piece that's never before been available to the public - at a reasonable price. And so the Wicked Witch Mojo Bag was born.  So...other than the fact that each bag sports Sabrina's fabulous Wicked Witch Pent as its centerpiece - a lovely gift in and of itself - and the fact that I personally handcraft each one, what makes these bags so special?
Well...I'll tell you! There are days when you neither need all the stuff in that monstrosity you call a purse, nor want to lug it around. [Festivals, RenFaires, vacations, or just a day out with the girls come to mind here.] But still, you continue to drag it around even though your strides are lopsided from the sheer weight. You know you could change to a smaller, cuter, more elegant bag, but one thing always stops you dead in your tracks: It's the fact that those smaller, cuter bags that simply exude elegance just don't have enough room for all the stuff you still need to carry. And so you grab that fifty pound satchel - the one that slightly resembles a diaper bag - and resign yourself to a lopsided gait and an aching shoulder. If this sounds familiar, I have three words for you. Stop. Right. There.  The Wicked Witch Mojo Bag really is filled with...well...mojo! Measuring only 7-1/2" x 8-1/2", you'll find two long vertical pockets inside: the perfect size for your cell phone, check book, shades, or plane tickets. Each bag also sports two credit card slots that cover a hidden pocket to stash mad money, lip gloss, keys, receipts, and other small necessities - leaving the entire body of the purse just waiting to be filled with the other stuff you can't live without. And if that's not enough, I've added a 6-1/2" X 7-1/2" back pocket as well.
There's more. These bags are made with a generous 52" strap so they can be worn across the chest or over your shoulder. Regardless of how you choose to carry it, though, one thing's certain: It lies flat against your body and within reach of your hand. A Velcro fastener provides security while giving you easy access to the contents. And...you'll find my autograph in every single one. One more thing. While the Wicked Witch Mojo Bag will only be crafted in shades of black, grey, red, and white or cream - or shades of black, grey and white - you'll never have to worry that someone else's is an exact carbon copy of the one you own. Why? Because fabrics will vary according to what I've got on hand. And since the cover flap is a non-templated crazy quilt design, exact duplication is next to impossible. :) So, how much do these wicked little bags cost? And when can I expect delivery? While the Sassy Bag pattern by Lazy Girl Designs isn't exactly the same, it comes pretty close. [It is, after all, the pattern upon which I based the Mojo Bag. ;)] The main differences are in the bag construction and in the fact that it has no credit card slots.
